It's the day of presentation for Kontrak Kita Janji(KKJ). (FYI, KKJ is something like a presentation for our own company. We have to present on our flag, logo, remedies to improve our discipline, so on so forth.) I had no prediction or forecast telling me that I was gonna be part of the presenters. =_=" I was told to present on Bravo company's flag 15 minutes before I went up the stage. *jaw-dropped* Out of the four companies, Bravo was the last to do the presentation. As expected, many were sleepy. It was already 12 when it was Bravo's turn. So, what's of the insanity? ..... While waiting for the others to present on other topics, I was observing the audience. 50% of them were in their sweet dream!! Pfth!! Ok!When it was my turn, guess what! I must have my brain went wrong at that time!

"Kepada wira dan wirawati yang sedang tidur, sila bangun!!! Semasa kompeni lain bercakap di atas pentas, Bravo memberi perhatian sepenuhnya. Tetapi semasa Bravo bercakap di atas pentas, kompeni lain pula tidur. Sila hormatilah kami!!"

Yes, I said that! ZOMG!!!Since that day, I became quite... well-known. Even the camp commander remembered me. (God!)

Somehow, Bravo did not win for the KKJ. Alpha won. Okay. Alpha deserves it! =)

My Extraordinary 18th anniversary

I had been celebrating my birthdays with my family and friends for my past seventeen years. Never had I imagined that I was going to celebrate my eighteenth in a place where no one knew me not more than a week! @__@ Frankly, I did not expect for anything! Yet, the day did not just went on ordinarily!

I was wished by May Hui once my eye lids were opened in the early morning. Next was Vi Kie. And then, everyone in my form wished me a very Happy Birthday and sang me a birthday song. Haha.

As usual, I attended Character-building Class at 9.00am. Amazed, I saw May Hui approaching my class teacher. She wouldn't do that unless there's something going on! Gosh! I knew it! She must have told the teachers about my birthday. *faint* Halfway through the class, Cikgu Hani called me out out of a sudden.

Hani: Hari ini apa hari bulan?
JJ: Er.. 2 Januari.
Hani: Kamu ada buat apa kesalahan hari ini?
JJ: Har? Tak de.. (wth)
Hani: Nanti kamu tahu.

Just before we were released for a break, Cikgu Hani called me out again! Ah! Shyt! Every single human being in the class stared at me.

Hani: Dia hari ini telah melakukan sesuatu kesilapan yang besar.
Everyone: *making noises, especially the boys*
Hani: Dia bersalah kerana tidak berkongsi dengan kita bahawa hari ini hari ulang tahun dia.
(GAWD! SAVE ME PLEASE!!)

I have no comment on the reason I cried. Haha! Maybe, I was surged by a strong emotion to cry. Well, it ain't that bad to be at here. Even though the people here weren't that close to me, yet they could still give me their great blessings with such an enthusiastic way.

Remembrance #2 -Debate's Prelude

First time participating in a formal debate competition. Poop poop!! My heart beat in an abnormal way!

My team : Ahmad Nikmatul, Lai Chew Wei, Ainun and Lee Joe Jian(me).

Usul: Lelaki Berperanan dalam Pembangunan Negara.

My team is the government. Eeks! I seriously had no idea on how to support the guys okay! It was so cruel for me to oppose my own gender! Brrr.... I used to be so confident in speaking, but for this time, something was not going right! During the discussion before we started our deabe, Chew Wei and Ahmad kept helping me with the points. I have to admit that they are superb! Fantastic points and fantastic ways of speaking. I did moderately in the competition. Nothing bad but nothing great as well. Chew Wei was the best debator. Mm... Our team obviously won over the opposition team. Yet, no prize is given. Gees~~

Remembrance #1- The Bride

04/02/009Yea ha! I had turned into a Sikh bride! So, what's this event about? Regarding the Integration Program, we had this event where the selected ones have to wear wedding costumes of different religion. And so, I was chosen to be a Sikh bride. There were Buddhist, Christian, Islam, Sikh and Hindu. It was so awkward to have everyone glaring me in a weird way!!

Flying Fox

So, what's about flying fox? Flying fox is so called an activity to overcome height fear. To be frank, there's nothing to be feared of. My feedback on flying fox is "macam pergi tiup angin saje.." Haha!!

Before trying flying fox, the jurulatih will introduce you to the accessories used and the safety precautions. No point paying so much of attention during class unless you are those type who are so interested in flying fox. Why do I say so lei.. 'Cos rite.. The only thing you have to do is to say ON BELAY!! READY TO FLY!! and.... FLY!!!!!!! I am serious okay! All the safety precautions are done by jurulatih. That's why I say you have no worries about flying fox wookay!

The scenery

If you were to ask me what's the best thing in this camp, without second thought, I will answer you-The scenery. The beauty of the scenery here is not something that can be described literally. If I had a camera with me, I would definitely capture the scenery to show you guys.

Below are some of the memorable places in the camp/outside the camp.

This is the place where all the Buddhisms go on Sunday-Persatuan Buddhist Sg. Siput.We enjoyed ourselves hell lots here. The food, the home-sweet-home feeling, and the laughters of the Chinese. =D

It's always misty in the morning or after raining. I used to stand still for a while to admire the beauty of nature.

Kawasan Elemen Tinggi. This is the place we play Flying Fox.

The hall. The place we berbaris and hold our events. (Many unforgettable memories here)

The place we buka puasa everyday.

The telephone booths. (Ignore the two insane girls in the pic)

The place we buy burger all the time. (Very delicious okay!)

Shady areas. Usually, the girls will sit there during Riadah(From 5.30pm-6.15pm)

Introducing my favourite place in this camp-my mini hillside. I always laid myself on the grass and looked at the blue blue sky. The feeling is superb ok!

This is where you gonna carry out Kembara Halangan activity. Actually right,very easy to do only lah! No worries!

The field is our netball court. Our camp's netball team had their "latihan neraka" here. And, our camp's team won the champion for Zon B.

HAHAHAHA!! This is our PADANG KAWAD!! This is the most "MEMORABLE" place in the camp.
I shall support my point with a few reasons:
1. The place where most fainting case occurs.
2.The place where people sweat most.
3. The hottest site in the camp.
4. The place where you can see many people showing their "papaya" face.
5. The place where many prayers are said. (Everyone will pray for the rain to come)

Our Sovereignty

First of all, let me explain for those who have not been in NS. In the camp, we'll be divided into four companies-Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta. It's something like what you see in Harry Potter's movie. So, below are the flags of the companies. Believe it or not, these flags are accomplished in TWO days only (including the plannings,drawing and painting). You gotta admit that all these are FREAKING COOL!~~

Do and Don't

Well, I guess there will be ppl who are still wondering what are the things that they should/shouldn't bring. Let me give you guys a better picture thru' the info below:

Things that you should bring(or I should say things needed that most people did not bring to the camp):
1. Pail and brush(You can choose to not bring it. But you gotta buy it with a higher price in the camp)
2. Cebok/Gayung (It's the thing to scoop water. You'll need it when you bathe)
3. Lock (To lock your locker. A small one will do.)
4. Slipper (You can't be bare-footed in your dorm,right?)
5. Plastic bags (It's for you to throw rubbish. Just in case you are too lazy to walk out of the dorm just to throw a sweet wrapper.)
6. Marker pen (This is ILLEGAL. But, just bring it okay. Use whatever way to hide the marker;whether in your shirt, or trousers' pockets.)
7. Note book (Well, this is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to be brought there. Maybe you will need it to jot down important things. Besides, bring a book for you to pass around among your friends to leave their details and messages to you.)
8. Alarm clock (If possible)
9. Food!! (Make sure it's HALAL lah... =_=")
10. Unwanted clothes (You might need it to wipe off the dust)
11. Toilet roll.
12. Games (Chiness chess, chess, UNO cards,... A way to get to know new friends actually)
13. Sunscreen
14. Bottle
15. Traditional costume(Trust me! You will need it! If you seriously don't have any, bring a nice suit of clothes. You will have to wear it on SPECIAL eventS)

Things that you should not bring (Tolong jangan bawa ye..)
1. Medicine (Pills, tablets, creams,.......Whatever medicine will be confiscated on the day you reach the camp. Anyway, vitamins are allowed.)
2. Mosquito repellent (No worries k. I don't think there will be as many mosquitoes as you expected. Btw, this is illegal as well.)
3. Extension plug (No way!)
4. Liquid paper (If you really wanna bring it......, HIDE it!)
5. Cigarettes and alcoholic drinks (If you wished to be charged by Unit Kaget & Disiplin,.......... )
6. Too many clothes (Two t-shirts & two pants will do just nice okay.Don't move your entire wardrobe to the camp as the locker's space is very limited.)
7. Scissors and knife (If you wish to bring scissors, HIDE!! But if you wish to bring knife, I advised you not to do so.)
8. Electrical appliances (Girls... No hair dryer okay..)
9. Make-ups. (No need to make up la! Everyone looks the same at there.)

First of all, I would like to introduce myself. I am Joe Jian or also known as JJ. I was one of the "chosen" ones who participated National Service for Kumpulan 1/ Siri 6. Yep! Today is the day I left the camp-11th March 2009! Such a historical day!

Well.. Everyone is most welcomed to have look on this blog. The upcoming posts will be about my ultimate experiences in my camp-Kem Terkok, Sg. Siput(U). For those who are chosen for the coming batch, there will be some advices and helpful informations in the upcoming posts! Cheers. =)
